There's no failing, it's your blog!

I have spent many months contemplating starting this blog. Hours brainstorming, months annoying my best friends about names and ideas. (Thanks girls!) Trying to decide if I could I actually make it happen. 

Then last week my best friend asked me for help with picking out new makeup, in about 20 minutes I typed up 2 pages of just drugstore makeup that I thought was worth the money. The next day I help another friend with new options for her oily skin. I couldn’t believe how quickly I could reference all these things. I knew I had a makeup obsession, but didn't really know how deep it went.

I started getting into beauty YouTube videos and lifestyle blogs about 3 years ago, when my husband got a new job that would require us to move at least once a year. So I was trying to find  stuff to keep occupied while I wasn’t working and planning our wedding. It quickly became part of my routine, watching my favorite YouTube beauty girls, reading my favorite blogs, and shopping for things I heard about that I wanted to try. I was constantly sharing stuff I learned about with friends periodically. Then I thought to myself last fall, “Why not try blogging yourself?”

With moving around the country so much with my little family, blogging could be something I could keep up with no matter where we happen to be living. In 3 years, we have moved 8 times, so I have learned quite a few things about packing quickly and tricks to make sure you don’t go crazy if you are in a small town. 

I want to be able to share my life on this blog, including the hobbies I have grown to love, being a puppy mom to the best Bassador there is, and anything and everything in between. Its a way to keep track of this crazy life we have going and a way to be able to remember it later.

So after all the back and forth mentally about whether I could actually do this, my best friend reminded me “There is no failing, its your blog!” Shanna’s Modern Life can be anything and everything I want it to be.
